The Lake Huron Basket is the first in a series of Great Lakes Baskets. This basket is woven on an oval slotted oak wood base. Tripletwine with space dyed reed secures the base, then a three-two twill weave goes up the sides, along with more twining and weaving. The rim is finished with a beautiful woven braid. Colors in the basket are sand, navy-blue, marine blue, and light blue. Also included in the kit is a stone from Lake Huron and it is connected to the basket via rock wrapping. Rocks will vary in size and shape.
